About The American Board of Orofacial Pain
Founded in 1994 The American Board of Orofacial Pain was established in response to a need for a valid certification process for dentist practicing Orofacial Pain Management. The ABOP currently holds its examinations yearly in conjunction with the American Academy of Orofacial Pain's Annual Conference.
Individuals who wish to become a Diplomate of the ABOP must pass the Written and Oral Examinations, respectively. Exams are given once per year, typically in conjunction with the American Academy of Orofacial Pain's Annual Conference.

Because of the world wide public health crisis, and with everyone’s health and welfare in mind, we must cancel the exams scheduled for May 6, 2020.
